Sid Vicious was a junkie poseur who couldn’t actually play his Bass.
The fact that this CC exists makes me even sadder than the fact above.

But he was THE junkie poseur who couldn’t play bass. Also, as the former bass player for a punk band, you don’t have to know how to play when it’s punk. Its like, the same note the entire song.

The one I’ve seen on the road, god knows if it was in an accident and repaired, had horrendous panel gaps on it, I couldn’t imagine paying that cash for a Kia, but I must admit I haven’t been in one.

Except he couldn’t play at all. Whenever they played live, his shit was canned. It’d be one thing to bang away at one flat key through the whole song like you’re keeping time on a drum but even that was beyond Sid’s skill.
Malcom hired him for the band because he looked the part of the proto punk. Johnny R famously regretted that. Beyond the fact that Sid was a talentless nitwit, Johnny always felt that joining the band ultimately lead to Sid’s death (and Nancy’s, by extension I suppose).
I think I’m so down on Sid in particular because I was so into the LA punk scene in the early 80s and the Pistols were a bit like the Beatles to us; they were an important seminal band in a genre we loved and everyone else seemed to loath (with was just they way we liked it). The fact that Sid was so fake when everything else “punk” was so real (especially compared to the LA hair bands whose fans we literally fought in the streets) made Sid feel like the commercial construct that he was.

Are those factory wheels because they look awful and I’d imagine it’s painful to ride in.

Never saw them live (that I can recall). I honestly don’t remember them playing a lot of West Coast shows ... at least in LA. I could totally be wrong, though.
Bands I saw a LOT, #1 was X. We always stood in front of Billy Zoom since he planted himself and never really moved. It got to the point that he would see us and wave went he came out. That was neat. Off the top of my head, these are bands I remember seeing: The Germs, Circle Jerks, Fear, Dead Kennedys, TSOL, Bad Religion, Adolescents, Agent Orange, Black Flag, Alice Bag Band, MDC, Suicidal Tendencies, and Wasted Youth. I’m sure there are more than I’m forgetting because there were so many shows back then where 5 or 6 bands would play a single show. Those were always the bloodiest.

no, not a chance.
I hate when there is no sidewall left on a tire, must be horrendous ride quality.

I had a Sentra SE-R Spec V that came stock with tires like that. Not only was the ride crap but the handling was worse than a base model Mazda 3.

I don’t mean to be rude, but honestly every time I saw one of those I laughed my ass off.
Just the jumbled mess on the back of a silly sentra alwasy got me:
SE-R
Spec-V
Like come on, you didn’t even keep it all CAPS. And a guy in high school had one that I regularly roasted in my old blazer.

No rudeness. Bad car was bad. I actually replaced it with the bottom rung Mazda 3 with the 2.0 and a 5 speed on all seasons and it was infinitely better than the top tier Sentra with a 6 speed and summer tires.

I’m a decade behind you, but I’ve been fortunate enough to see a few of those (DK, Bad Religion, and Suicidal Tendencies). I grew up with the Detroit/midwest ska scene in the 90s - lots of great times there, too. You seriously didn’t miss much with Minor Threat. I can’t imagine their shows were any better than their music, which I’ve always kind of considered the worst punk music ever. I give them 2 points for legitimacy, because they were so punk they didn’t even care about things like learning to play...
